Happy almost Labor Day

Labor Day in the United States is a federal holiday celebrated on the first Monday of September, dedicated to honoring the contributions and achievements of American workers. The holiday has its origins in the labor union movement of the late 19th century, a period marked by significant industrial growth and often harsh working conditions. Labor unions, advocating for better wages, reasonable hours, and safer working conditions, played a pivotal role in the establishment of this holiday. The first Labor Day parade was held on September 5, 1882, in New York City, organized by the Central Labor Union.

In 1894, amid nationwide strikes and growing labor unrest, Congress passed an act making Labor Day a national holiday, signed into law by President Grover Cleveland.

The holiday has since evolved from its origins as a labor union celebration to a more general acknowledgment of the contributions of all workers to the prosperity and well-being of the country. Today, Labor Day is often seen as the unofficial end of summer, marked by barbecues, parades, and other leisure activities.

Have a great one!
